What I offer is this: You contact me and we set up an appointment that is convenient for you whether during the day, of an evening or on the week-end. The location of the free consultation will be in your home, in my home, at the wedding or reception site, or wherever else you choose. I bring a lap top computer filled with thousands of pictures including my previous work (no—we won’t look through all of them and they are divided into style and category) and silk samples of many styles. I’ll ask you to describe the tone of your wedding in as many adjectives as possible and to show me your dress, the bridesmaid dresses, invitations, etc. We’ll discuss color and texture and I’ll ask for a color sample of your wedding colors or I’ll obtain one from the manufacturer of the dresses if needed. We’ll talk about ribbon, pearls, rhinestones, charms, your grandmother’s handkerchief, and any other items you may want to incorporate into your bouquet. Mostly, you’ll talk about your vision of this very special day and I’ll listen!
Regardless of your budget (a florist doesn’t need to spend every penny of your budget!), we’ll talk about what arrangements can be used both at the ceremony and at the reception and other cost saving ideas. I’ll give you a firm proposal that will be far less than the retail florist and I’ll include an additional boutonniere for the groom (he gets hugged a lot) and toss away bridal bouquet at no additional charge! I do this by charging you only what I pay for the flowers plus my labor unlike the retail florist who must charge 3.5 times the actual cost of the flowers plus labor to cover overhead.
After that, I’ll visit the ceremony site, the reception site, and want to see you in your dress (the final fitting is a perfect time). We can’t decide on the final size of the arrangements without these important steps. I’ll bring you samples of the selected flowers and ribbons for your approval of color and texture. If you plan to create some of the floral arrangements or decorations yourself, I’ll help with purchasing the necessary supplies at wholesale prices and provide whatever support and advice you need. The day of the wedding I’ll personally deliver your flowers and set them up. If need be, I’ll move them from the ceremony site to the reception site. I’ll pin on the boutonnieres and pass out the bouquets, but most importantly, I’ll get to see the look on your face when I hand you your bridal bouquet! |
